Celebrating Excellence! Congratulations to American Falls FFA Chapter's teams who swept district and regional events in March. The American Falls FFA Chapter hosted the East Magic Valley FF A District Leadership Development Events (LDEs). These contests are primarily speaking events where students demonstrate their aptitude for premier leadership and career success.
All eight competitive events require winning in order to qualify for the state Level which will take place in Twin Falls in April. The American Falls FF A Chapter had multiple teams and individuals in every event and swept the competition by winning seven of the eight events.
Cody Carlon, and her team, won the Parliamentary Procedure LDE. Cody Carlon won the Prepared Public Speaking LDE. (Cody is the niece of Andrew and Laura Porath.)
The Floriculture Career Development Event (CDE) competed in the Southern Idaho Invitational Event. The American Falls teams placed first and third. Cody Carlon won first place individually, and Sayde Porath won sixth place (out of ten teams with five members in each team). (Sayde is the daughter of Shane and Shannon Porath.)
The choosing of the district FF A officers also took place. American Falls FFA member Fernando Montelongo will serve as this years' district president. Cody Carlon will serve as this year's district vice president.
Celebrating Excellence! Congratulations to Brandon Long and Mitsy Ledesma, two pharmacy technicians at Rockland Pharmacy, American Falls, Idaho, were accepted to Pharmacy School. Both are graduates of American Falls School. Brandon will be attending Idaho State University's pharmacy school and Mitsy will be attending the pharmacy school at the University of Colorado. (Brandon is the son of G.R. and Kelli Long.)
Celebrating Excellence! Congratulations to Aunnika Allen, and the American Falls FF A Chapter team on "Ag Issues" who took first place at the state competition in April. Aunnika and her team will be going on to Nationals in the months to come, in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Aunnika is the daughter of Dustin and Honi Allen.)
